Hi, Bern.

It’s probably been about 10 years since I met you.

And I remember I was at a network marketing event and I was so fearful because I’d never done anything like that before.

I found one of your flyers in the back of the room and I decided to check it out.

And someone once said that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Well, I was ready.

And I really appreciate that I could go to the essays and absorb it all.

And in the 10 years since I’ve been listening to your essays and absorbing them, I will tell you that being an entrepreneur, there are plenty of opportunities to have fear and have doubt.

But I found myself being not fearless, but fear-free.

And being able to be so hopeful about the future and being able to project that.

And that is such a gift.

One of the things that I heard that really applies to you is Oprah Winfrey said this of Quincy Jones once.

She said, sometimes someone shows up that can change the trajectory of your life.

And that’s really how I feel about you.

I wasn’t supposed to do this.

Cry at me.

I see sometimes people end up in the spiral of gravity that spirals down and down and down.

And they need something, a thought, a word, that helps project them out of that spiral down and down.

And that’s where you came in.

And I feel really glad and privileged to have been in your teachings and been able to share your stories with other people.

I’ll end with one other quote.

Irma Bombeck said that when I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I could say I used everything you gave me.

And because you make people capable of being fear-free and hopeful and grateful, I think you allow us that opportunity.
