S2 E10 On Death and Dying
Life Talk with Bern Moses
Life Talk continues its bereavement series, reviewing how losses and recognized lacks can create “bottlenecks” of denial, anger, guilt, bargaining, and transference that freeze progress in life and work. Moses reframes bereavement as a fear-based state and grief as a love-based action that releases it. He argues modern culture wrongly avoids death and stresses the body’s importance for healthy closure. Moses recommends preparing the body for viewing and, ideally, sustained attendance—about 72 hours—to sever the bond, enabling forgiveness, making amends, saying goodbye, and affirming “I love you” in the present tense. If no body is available, the same process can be done mentally and aloud.
